Challenger Performance Sport Bars are a great way to improve the stock side support bars on your TJ. These bars are easy to install and offer great features like grab handles for driver and passenger, and optional spreader bars which, when used in pairs, can be modified for mounting accessories such as a Cobra CB radio. (Drilling is required for the spreader bars, but not the basic kit.)
Challenger Performance Sport Bars also make it easier than ever for TJ owners to put their windshields down. With this kit installed, lowering your windshield is as easy as removing two hinge screws and your windshield wipers. You no longer need to remove the center-bar-to-windshield supports, which is not only a pain, but also sacrifices what little safety the stock bars did offer.
What We Really Think
Challenger Performance strikes again! This is the second time we've tested their products on our TJ, and, like the first, the Sport Bar Kit shows the same great attention to detail and expert craftsmanship we've come to expect from them.
The kit is well thought out, and can be installed by even the least experienced Jeeper in a short amount of time. Everything needed in included with the kit, and installation is pretty intuitive. The benefits are great, and our only complaint so far is that Mac can't seem to remember where his head is, and keeps smacking it into the spreader bars. It's nice to be able to drop the windshield so easily, and not compromise safety after doing so. The grab handles are a great help for getting in and out of lifted TJ's. Passengers in particular will enjoy the fact that there are many new places to hang on!
