Chris Driver's 1972 Commando "The Commandog"

Chris' Commando "The Commandog" has 258 inline six with header, Offenhauser 4barrel intake, Holley 390cfm, GM HEI ignition and GM alternator. Swapped in T-18 with 6.32 to 1 1st gear. Swapped in Dana 300. Springover lift with stock springs. RS 9000 shocks. Stainless braided brake lines. Trimmed fenders to fit 35x12.50 Dunlop Mud terrains and keep lower center of gravity while still flexing well. Replaced entire interior, seats from '96 eclipse GSX. Future plans: Soft top, winch, 6 point cage, rear locker.

"It's a '70 Jeepster Commando with a spring over axle lift, the front springs are from the rear of a Toyota truck, 10" total lift w/ tires, FJ40 front shock towers, highback seats, Simpson 5-point harnesses, rollbar, 33x11.50x15 Super Swamper Thornbirds, 15x8 reverse cut rims, 225 engine w/ Offenhouser dual-port intake and Holley 4bb carb, Dana 44 rear w/ flanged 30 sp axles and a Lock-Right, Flowmaster exhaust, Ramsey 8000lb winch, KC lights, custom bumpers, bobbed front fenders (no pics yet), new paint, and much, much more... RTI over 1000. All the work was done by a me and a friend."

J. S. Vaughan's 1970 Kaiser Jeepster

J. S. Vaughan's Jeepster resides in Colorado and has been in his hands for about 6 months now. It has a Dauntless V6, Dana 27 front, Dana 35 rear, and 4.27 gears. He painted it with bright red industrial latex with a roller brush and re-painted the interior. Trailmax classic seats, Auto-Meter gauges and new carpet complete the interior. Plans include new springs, full roll-cage, and a warm-up on the engine. It hasen't left Colorado yet, but the jerry can has been used on some long trails.

Rick's 1972 Commando has undergone a frame off restoration, and has new paint, new high-back bucket seats, new carpet kit, tilt steering column w/Grant wheel, power steering added, 3" lift springs from betts springs, 31x10.5 BF Goodrich AT's, all new brakes/master cylinder, 304 motor, Edelbrock Performer cam, Edelbrock Performer manifold/carb, Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, new exhaust system, Kayline bikini top and soft top, stock drive train w/T-14a 3-speed tranny, tire and gas can carrier, Delco one-wire alternator, Tuffy console, and Explorer shocks.

Chris' Commando has a fiberglass Scrambler CJ8 body, CJ7 soft top, and a rebuilt original V-6 engine.

"After an accident, I was able to retain the Commando fenders, hood, & grill. The Scrambler body is fiberglass. It's got the original V6 engine which has been rebuilt, dual exhaust, turbo-hydro trans with B&M Megashifter. The interior is all new with many hand-built parts. This summer I've got plans for new wheels & tires, limited slip rear, headers, & who knows what else I might think of." - Chris
