Tornado Air Intake

Tornado Air - Gimmick or Good Idea?

Like many of you, we were skeptical that such a simple device could live up to the claims made by the company that sells it, but believe us, it's all that and more.

Tornado Air, Inc., claims that its invention, a simple device that you just slide into your air tube, can improve your fuel economy by 10 to 24% AND boost your performance by 10 to 20% HP at the same time. So, instead of taking their word for it, we installed one onto our mostly-stock 1999 V8 Grand Cherokee that had only a K&N FIPK GII kit installed so far. And, since installing the 31" Goodyear MTR's, we have noticed a large drop in power from stock (expectedly so), and we were very pleased with the K&N kit, even though we were still quite a ways from recovering back to stock power. We had driven the WJ 1500 miles with the K&N kit alone to the 2001 SEMA show, and though it did great, it was still lacking power in certain situations.

We installed our Tornado while at the SEMA show, for an easy comparison on the 1500-mile drive home. WOW, what a difference! We had absolutely no idea it would work so well; in fact, we hadn't heard much about the Tornado at all. Marked improvements in throttle response were immediately noticeable - that and the fact that we could finally leave a little rubber on the ground; no small feat with Quadradrive, let us assure you.

On top of the power increase, we also realized the promised MPG gain. According to our built-in computer, our Jeep was getting about 14MPG on the first leg of the trip, and an outstanding 17.5MPG on the return trip - an almost 25% increase!

"The Tornado is an automotive air-channeling tool that creates a swirling air motion, allowing the air to move faster and more efficiently by continuously whirling air around corners and bends - imagine a mini-tornado on its side moving through the intakes of your automobile. It causes better fuel atomization, resulting in an increase of gas mileage up to 24%. These figures are confirmed by road testing performed by a Licensed Emissions Lab. Dyno testing shows up to 20 added H.P. As well!" - Tornado Air Management Systems.

Though similar in principal to Throttle Body Spacers, we found the Tornado Air Intake to be MUCH more effective in all areas concerned - performance, fuel economy, and ease of installation. We do not recommend using a throttle body spacer in conjunction with the Tornado Air product.

Still skeptical? The Tornado also comes with a Lifetime Warranty* and 30-Day Money Back Guarantee*!! Makes a great gift!
